Access to data from the Norwegian ship surveillance satellite AISSat-1, might help the Japanese coast guard in its surveillance of Japanese waters and wider ocean areas.

A golden Galileo opportunity
Norwegian company Norspace has won space contracts worth 170 million kroner as part of the Galileo-programme. This is the largest space contract in Norwegian history.

Space Agreement with Japan
Norway and Japan will cooperate more in space. The Norwegian Space Centre and the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) recently signed a new agreement.
