CPOS

In parts of the Nordic countries – Norway, Denmark, Finland and Sweden – GPS is available with a precision of one centimetre, through an auxiliary system called Position Accuracy on the Centimetre level (CPOS).

CPOS is distributed via the GSM mobile telephone network and is easy to use.

Uses
CPOS is intended for professional users that require great precision. CPOS provides real-time corrections via GSM, which when used in connection with GPS receivers, permit calculation of position to one centimetre accuracy.

Independent of cellular station (RTK)
In the CPOS system, a virtual reference station is calculated on the basis of the coverage cell in which the user is located. For the user, the system then functions as if the base station were close at hand.
