New production contracts totaling more than NOK 100 million were signed during 2001 with the Norwegian participating companies.

Negotiations are now taking place for deliveries for parts for up to 30 new launchers. In 2004 six launches will be utilizing the Ariane 5.

For the development phase Norwegian firms won orders totaling more than NOK 400 million. New development contracts were signed in 2002 as part of a programme for increasing the payload capacity of Ariane 5 to 12 tons to GTO (Geo Transfer Orbit). This development will secure the position of Ariane 5 as the leading vehicle for launching large satellites to geostationary orbit.

Norwegian companies
Several companies are contributing parts to the Ariane 5 launcher. Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace and Raufoss ASA are two key players.
