Image Bank Policy

Most of the images in the Norwegian Space Centre’s Image Bank come from the Norwegian Space Centre (NSC), the European Space Agency (ESA) or the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). When sources are given with contact details, the originator(s) must be contacted directly for permission. Any permission required for non-commercial uses is stated, otherwise commercial use is permitted.

For material credited to ESA, please read ESA’s copyright statement at http://asimov.esrin.esa.it:8766/termIG.html

For non-commercial uses, material from NSC, NASA and ESA be reproduced contingent upon meeting the following requirements:

1. All uses shall be correctly credited. The source shall be stated for each image used. Examples: "Image: NASA", "Photo: NSC", "Illustration: ESA/SOHO".
2. The use of material from the Norwegian Space Centre’s Image Bank shall not be construed to imply that the Norwegian Space Centre, ESA, NASA or other affiliates support any particular commercial product, project or service. Use of material shall not be deceptive or misleading.
3. If an image shows one or more identifiable person(s), commercial use of it may be subject to privacy laws and use contingent upon prior consent of the person(s) depicted.

All commercial uses of material are contingent upon the prior permission of the Norwegian Space Centre; contact editor@spacecentre.no for further details.

All use of the Norwegian Space Centre’s image bank is contingent upon the user having read and accepted the rules put forth here. Violation of these rules may subject the violator to prosecution under intellectual property laws.
